Motto** (by David): Due to the high levels of background magic in the vicinity, a typical map of UU vaguely resembles an exploding chrysanthemum and is usually only valid for a day or so. Some rooms contain other rooms which contain the room you started with (especially problematic for a conga line). One of the most notable rooms in UU is Room 3b. This room is not believed to exist, but a surprising number of classes are scheduled there. In fact, at times of great celebration in the city of Ankh-Morpork it is not uncommon for the entire faculty to be teaching there. Since the contents of all magic libraries are in L-Space, it is possible to enter a Library in one city and exit in another. Alternatively, the scene was rendered as a panorama with the same settings otherwise. v01: David The curious effect with the ceiling grittyness was a bug induced, being due to the fact that two surfaces were intersecting exactly. It took David a while to track that one down but he did and lowered the ceiling slight to prevent the collision and show things in a more correct and predictable light. Due to this change he seperated the uppermost light to a different group and increased it. The pillars were modelled in wings, David went for something baroque. He applied a mottled stone effect materal and put in a bit of carpet. He moved the camera to take advatage of this effect of semi transparent walls in the way it «processes» the repeated images of the pillars. He also added a bookcase model with some books — the book and the bookcase was made in Wings3D then put together. Bryce Source File Size: 63.2 MB. v04: Horo Horo removed the three lit pilars in the middle of the room and also removed the pillars at N, E, S and W to replaced them by lit ones. He put lit pillars in the 2 L-shaped rooms at the NW, NE, SE and SW corners and reduced the reflection of the roof. Bryce Source File Size: 61.0 MB. v05: David David added a table and several lightning spheres, the main sphere on an elaborate stand made in Wings. He adapted the lighting.
